Why this guide exists
Toronto Dental Care is an independent information resource about teeth, gums, dental decisions and a gentle approach to care. It is written for children’s caregivers, adults and seniors across Toronto. The purpose is to make a dental conversation more understandable before, during and after a visit.
This website is not a clinic, does not have treating dentists and does not accept appointments. It does not claim an office at the centre of a coloured area on the map. No fictional clinician, patient testimonial, review score or clinical credential has been added to create the appearance of a practice.
What makes an article useful
A title sets a subject that should continue naturally through the body. An article about a filling should explain the tooth, the reason for the restoration, how treatment is discussed and what follow-up means. It should not drift into generic promises about quality or repeat a city name in every heading.
Each care guide opens with At a Glance, explains a defined question, provides a labelled illustration and offers questions for a dental professional. The illustrations are hypothetical teaching examples. They are not reports of appointments we performed or evidence that a particular result will occur.
Sources and limits
We use professional, regulatory and public-health sources, including the Canadian Dental Association, RCDSO, Toronto Public Health, NIDCR and other primary guidance. Ontario-specific regulatory information is used for local registration, consent and sedation discussions. General clinical sources from other jurisdictions do not establish local program rules, telephone services or entitlement to treatment.
The research edition is October 2026. There is no invented clinician reviewer or claim of professional certification for this website. References let readers examine the underlying guidance; they do not imply endorsement. Individual care depends on an examination and current professional judgment, and guidance or service availability can change.
Toronto and the postal map
The geographic data comes from Statistics Canada’s 2021 Census cartographic boundary files, retrieved on 19 October 2026. The map adapts Toronto’s municipal land boundary and 96 M-prefix census Forward Sortation Areas. Coordinates are simplified for display. The eight guide groups are editorial groupings of postal areas, not official borough or neighbourhood boundaries.
Census postal areas are not a live Canada Post address database. The tool accepts a prefix or full code, checks the format and matches only the first three characters. It does not verify an address, the final three characters, device location or travel time. Special-use or more recent codes may be absent without being invalid. Confirm an actual practice address and journey independently.

Advertising and factual profiles
The separate Find a Dentist page handles commercial listings. No paid practice profiles are published in this initial edition. Future profiles must be checked for factual information and visibly labelled as advertising. Payment does not establish clinical quality, suitability, ranking or availability, and it does not rewrite the educational guides.
Commercial and publishing enquiries: Dentist@torontodental.care. Please do not send patient records or confidential medical information. This is not a clinical advice or urgent-care inbox.
Privacy and local tools
The postal search and visit-note tool run in the browser. They do not submit entries to a server or email address, use browser storage to preserve entries, or request device location. The map is bundled with the site rather than embedded from a tracking service. There are no patient accounts, analytics tags or advertising trackers in this build.
Copying a note places text on the device clipboard. Downloading creates a text file on the device. Those copies are under your control. A browser may retain history or form information according to its own settings, and the hosting service may process ordinary request information to deliver the site. External links and mail apps have their own policies. Clear a form after using a shared device.
When an article is not the next step
New or worsening dental pain, swelling, injury or a persistent mouth change needs appropriate professional advice. Difficulty breathing or swallowing with swelling requires emergency medical help. This website cannot assess an individual symptom, prescribe medicine, decide benefits eligibility or determine which treatment is suitable for you.
